The footprint of the original dwelling was maintained and reconfigured with a small first floor addition. Working within the constraints of the existing building, the entire aparment was given a once over. Our concept was to invert the notion of conventional brick veneer. &nbsp;Beyond the environmental benefits, this idea allows for the inherent beauty of the brick to become the material for the interior. &nbsp;The project is know as Hearth House and it exploits the robustness of the material in dealing with daily family life.
